The Bilingual Kids Academy is a Basel based organization that is dedicated to providing the highest level of child care and education. Basel is a diverse city that serves as the headquarters for international companies, is a center of research and a city of culture. Our academy has been designed to cater to the diverse families that live in this great city. We offer a stimulating educational environment in which children can playfully develop their German and English language skills.

Each classroom is staffed with at least one German and one English teacher working together. These qualified teachers consistently speak to children in just their native language, necessitating a conscious use of each language. That means that daily activities, songs and games are lead in German or English by the respective German or English speaking teacher. This way, children gain awareness of each of the two languages separately. This exposure provides an opportunity to learn how to clearly understand and separate the linguistic structures of each language, while developing the ability to express themselves in both. Throughout the day, both English and German are used equally and side by side.

The academy was founded and developed by Aida Diaw and Khady Monteilh, both qualified educators with many years of practical experience working in German and English schools. The goal is to offer not only an ideal learning environment for children, but one that fosters open communication between caregiver/teacher and parents as well.
